The effects of sleep deprivation can range from simply feeling aggravated to chronic diseases and mental health disorders. This webinar explores why sleep cycles are important and how sleep disorders impact fitness for duty and quality of life.
In addition to learning powerful yet simple sleep hygiene practices, fire fighters gain an introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which is proven to remarkably improve sleep in six weeks. Topics include caffeine dosing, sleep supplements and tracking devices, using light and sound to your advantage, determining your proper sleep hours, and what to do when you cannot sleep.
Presented by Brandon Dreiman, an IAFF Peer Support & Resilience Master Instructor and 22-year veteran of the Indianapolis Fire Department, where he serves as Coordinator of Firefighter Wellness & Support.
